2010 SLICK TRACK
Participants:
1.) Proof of age must be made available. Anyone under 18 must
have parental escort present to sign minor release form. Minimum
age of 16 to race.
2.) Full face helmet SNELL 95 or newer. Seat belt, fire retardant
gloves and track approved racing suit, and neck brace.
3.) No car is allowed to exit track facility before teck officials
approve all post race inspections. If you do so you are forfeiting
all money and points payout.
Car Preparation:
1.) Cars must be stock, no structure modifications or reinforcement
to frame, or body. Roll bars permitted around driver compartment.
A chain or bar must be placed behind driver seat from doors
post to doors post. Cars with sunroof must have glass removed.
Replace with minimum 16-gauge metal securely fastened on outside
of roof. Bumper shocks maybe welded solid and/or reinforced
with a single flat steel plate per shock no more than 1/8”
thick and extend back the frame no more than 4”. Passenger
seat must stay in car.
2.)(2) Six inch channel irons, or (1) twelve inch channel
iron, guard rail protective steel bar must be attached to
exterior sides of the car starting at the front fire wall
and extending to the rear fire wall. Bar must be bolted securely
to the sides of the car starting 18” from the ground.
Front and rear bumpers must be no higher than 20” from
the ground at the time of pre-tech. No sharp edges. Track
may have guardrail for sale if needed.
3.) Radiator may not be relocated. All radiators must be flushed
clean of antifreeze and replaced with water only prior to
entering track premised. Battery should be moved to inside
driver compartment on passenger front floor and must be properly
secured and covered. Any battery location should be covered.
5.) No reinforced wheels allowed, stock all season A &
B series dot legal tires only, 6-ply maximum. No studded tires,
no reinforcing or additives allowed in tires. No 100 mile
spares.
6.) All glass and mirrors must be removed. Side windows must
be removed not broken inside door panel. This includes headlights,
taillights, and windshields. Driver’s half of windshield
needs covered with wire mesh heavier then chicken wire and
holes no larger then ½ inch, with a bar installed in
center of windshield.
7.) Exhaust may be rerouted through the hood but must have
a minimum 12” past the hood and/or past the window line.
A 12-inch hole must be cut in the center of the hood and trunk.
All cat converters must be removed.
8.) Doors must be secured, chained and or welded.
9.) Hood must be able to be opened for inspection, but must
be chained (Hood pins are preferred) for the race. No use
of the seat belt straps.
10.) Locked rears will be allowed.
11.) Gas tank fuel cell or boat tank should be moved to center
rear seat compartment and securely fastened with 1-2”
minimum Holes evenly spaced under gas tank. No more than 10
gallons of fuel per car!!! Any electrical fuel pump must have
safety kill switch or disconnect plug mounted in dash area,
accessible to driver painted white and labeled.
12.) Minimum 12 ounce ABC fire extinguisher must be mounded
in driver compartment and accessible to driver.
13.) RACING NUMBERS: Must be legible! Must have (3) locations
(1) on each side door and on roof standing up on at least
a 12” high by 18” long panel. No more than 3 digit
numbers must be at least 18’ in height on doors and
3” wide. Number color must contrast car color.
14.) We are not responsible for fire, theft or damage to vehicles
left at the speedway. Any car left at the Shippensburg Speedway
longer than 42 hours after the event will become Shippensburg
Speedway property unless other arrangements have been made.
All cars will be towed to the pit area after the race. Any
car left in the pit area at the end of the race may not be
claimed by anyone other than the person whose name appears
on the sign up data card.
15.) If any car runs alcohol fuel it must say alcohol in white
letters on the top center of the dash no smaller than 3”
high and 6” wide.
Junk Car Race Rules:
1.) Participants are expected to cooperate with race officials.
Failure to do so will result in disqualification.
2.) During the race all cars must stay within the boundaries
of the racetrack (including the infield section) or risk being
disqualified. 5 MPH speed limit in the pit area.
3.) Flags to remember: GREEN – Start Race, RED –
Race Stopped, CARS MUST STOP IMMEDIATELY, and Emergency crew
needed. BLUE – Warning, you appear to be sandbagged
become more involved or be disqualified. BLACK – DISQUALIFIED,
shut the car off immediately.
4.) If you drive or get knocked into the in field, you have
a ¼ lap to return to the track or the lap does not
count.
5.) All decisions by officials are finals. Rules may be changed
or added for safety. Additional track rules may apply.
6.) Contact is preferred but no overly aggressive contact.
(Wide open hits into stationary vehicles). No T-boning the
driver door.
7.) Course will change from week to week without notice. (Obstacles
will be added)
8.) Race will start from a dead stop at the main flag stand.
NOTE: ANYTHING NOT COVERED IN THESE SPECIFICATIONS WILL BE TO THE DESECRATION OF THE TRACK TECHNICAL PERSONNEL WITH OUT RECOURSE FROM ANY DRIVER OR OWNER. ALL SPECIFICATIONS ARE SUBJECT TO REVISION.
