2010 YOUNG GUNS
1) Age restrictions since this is a Junior Sprint
class, the ages are from 9-16 years old. No racing experience
required but new drivers may be required to start in rear until
deemed safe to draw pill start.
2) Helmet, clothing, safety belts, neck brace or head restraint
devices see general rules.
3) All chaises will be production type 270 micro sprint.
4) Padding on roll cage bracing or padded head rest behind the
drivers head mandatory. Their must be an approved firewall between
the driver and the engine. Sheet metal, aluminum, fiberglass,
or high impact plastic may be used. Batteries that are not sealed
or gel batteries must be enclosed in a battery box. Batteries
must be mounted so not to be smashed by front axle in a crash.
No wings of any kind. A mommy bar on one or both sides of the
car is optional, but highly recommended for safety.

6) Only #40, 41 or 420 driver chain from jackshaft to rear sprocket.
Chain guards must be installed on all cars where chains are exposed
to driver. All nuts, bolts and component parts of each car suspension
and steering system must be secured and have lock nuts, lock washers,
cotter keys, thread locking compound or be safety wired. The car
must be equipped with positive (working) kill switch and a fuel
shut off valve. Both must be clearly marked and easily reached
by driver. Roll cage must be a min. of 1-1/2” above the
driver’s helmet.
7) Tires: Hoosier tires with 10” wheels. Front tire: any
compound, r rear: D12 or harder, left rear: RD12 or harder. Tread:
min. center to center= 36”, max. Rear tires overall width
(measured outside to outside) = 63”. Wheel base: measured
center of front axel to center rear axel. Min.53”, max.70”.
Wheels and hubs: 10”wheel dia. Combinations only. Right
front and right rear wheels used should be those designed for
racing. Right rear, one piece style center wheel section must
have a thickness of at least .300” no 3 lug hubs.
8) Any shock absorbers are acceptable. Max. Of 2 cockpit adjustable
mechanisms in car.
9) Weight: min 550lbs. car with driver.
NOTE: ANYTHING NOT COVERED IN THESE SPECIFICATIONS WILL BE TO
THE DESECRATION OF THE TRACK TECHNICAL PERSONNEL WITH OUT RECOURSE
FROM ANY DRIVER OR OWNER. ALL SPECIFICATIONS ARE SUBJECT TO REVISION.
