2013 Mini-stock rules

 

 

 

Rear wheel drive class: any 4 cylinder compact car or truck, such as Pinto, Mustang, Vega, Monza, etc. must originally be rear wheel drive. Convertibles will not be permitted. Maximum wheelbase of 105".

 

Front wheel drive class: any 4 and 6 cylinder compact car or truck. No convertibles.  

 

 

 

1.) ENGINE: 4-cylinder piston type engine. Engine must be in front of car in original compartment. Electric fuel pumps allowed if properly wired to oil pressure cut off switch. Air cleaner cannot protrude through the hood more than 6 inches. Any radiator may be used as long as it fits under the hood and in its approximate stock position. REAR ENDS: No after market rear end housings. Water overflow must be rerouted to the trunk compartment and into a 1gal. min. non metal leak proof container.

 

2.) ROLL CAGE AND BRACING: Roll cage tubing must be 1 1/2" OD x .095 minimum wall thickness. Roll cage must extend above driver’s head. Roll cage must extend from windshield to behind driver with minimum of three 1 1/2" OD x .095 horizontal bars in each door compartment. One vertical bar at center of wind shield minimum 1" OD x .095 or 5 minimum 3/8 in rebar evenly spaced from drivers door to center of wind shield, is required from upper roll bar to dash bar at center of windshield area. One center roof bar is required. Roll cage must be welded to frame, or 6" x 6" x 1/8" steel plates must be welded to rocker panels and floor, minimum of four , one for each corner of the roll cage. Framework may be reinforced, all stock frame rails & cross members from center of front axle to rear of stock floor pan must be intact. Windshield may be covered by max. 1" whole shield heavier then chicken wire. Sub-frame or frame connectors are preferred. An X-bracing is preferred behind the driver. An X-bracing or crossbars are preferred on floorboard area. Safety belts and shoulder harnesses must be bolted to the roll cage. A required shoulder harness bar must be welded to roll cage at shoulder height. A mandatory racing seat, high back, or low back with head rest, is mandatory and must be mounted to roll cage at base and on back of seat, and must remain close to stock location. Rear bracing from roll cage to rear frame rails is preferred with X-bracing. A maximum of 1 3/4" OD x.134 on front and rear brace tubing. Front and rear bumpers may be reinforced from behind must be securely mounted to frame max. Of 1 1/2" x .095 tubing. Front & rear rub rails may exceed body panel by maximum of 3" from body panel. Bumpers must have bars or plates on the end that hook back into the body or are attached to the frame Rear bumper must have a way to be hooked and towed off track easily. Accessible and seen. Their must be a place to securely hook and tow the vehicle in the front either outside or under the hood.NO SHARP EDGES ON BUMPERS AT ANY TIME!!!!! Rub-rail are permitted but must be placed against body, max. Of 3 in. From outside of rub-rails to door panel and have no sharp edges and be rounded on the ends or into car. They must be 1 1/2" OD maximum diameter of a single bar design, and must be attached to the chassis or roll cage. 2  Driveline hoops are mandatory and must encircle the drive shaft, and be welded to the frame rail, or securely bolted to the floor with reinforcing plates. Drive shaft must be painted white.

 

3.) SUSPENSION: All suspension mounting points must remain in approximate stock wheelbase. Steering must remain stock, except steering quickeners allowed.

 

 4.) Bodies: Bodies may be interchanged. All doors must be welded or bolted shut. All interior glass and all flammable parts must be removed. No mirrors or lights allowed.  Full front and rear fire walls, must be in approximate stock position with all holes sealed. Full stock floorboards. After market spoiler and or hood scoop are allowed. Rear spoilers may not exceed 6" in height and hood scoop may not exceed 6" in height after market nose pieces are allowed. Plastic skirting only may be used with a minimum ground clearance of 4" at all times.

 

 


  5.)Tires & Brakes: Maximum 8" wheels. Bead-locks will be permitted. Wheel measurement must include bead lock. Maximum 8" tires, tread width cannot exceed 8 1/2".  Race wheels or reinforced stock wheels only. After market proportioning valves are allowed. All other brake components must be completely stock, including master cylinder, & must be enclosed from drivers’ compartment. Three wheels must slide at all times.

 

6.) Bumpers: Bumpers may have a maximum of 2" square tubing or 1 ½” round pipe behind them. All exposed bumpers must have a skid plate attached to the fender. Bumpers must not be cut off. Accessible tow chain is mandatory on the rear of all cars.

 

 7.) Fuel: Pump gas & cam 2 is allowed, no fuel allowed exceeding 120 octanes. Alcohol, nitro or nitro systems of any kind or J.P. 4 and 8 fuels will not be allowed. A fuel cell is mandatory with a bladder & 10 gallon maximum capacity. Fuel cell must be securely mounted in trunk area no further front than rear end housing.

 

 8.) Safety: Race seats are mandatory. All seats must be mounted to roll cage, and located in front of doorpost and to the left of drive shaft tunnel. Safety belts and neck braces are mandatory. Safety belts must be mounted to roll-cage. Race approved 4-point min. racing belts in good track approved condition, one release for all belts. Driver side window must have a race-approved nylon net in good track approved condition. 12 ounce A.B.C. fire extinguisher mandatory, easily accessible & usable by driver.  NOTE: Check general rules for helmet, suit and neck brace.

 

 9.) Miscellaneous: Battery must be moved inside of car in a steel frame or battery box, covered and securely fastened. No bungee straps. Car number and letters must be 18" high on both side of car and on roof is mandatory. Numbers are to be approved by scorekeepers!!! No horns or 2-way radios.

 

 

 

 NOTE: ANYTHING NOT COVERED IN THESE SPECIFICATIONS WILL BE TO THE DISCRETION OF THE TRACK TECHNICAL PERSONNEL WITH OUT RECOURSE FROM ANY DRIVER OR OWNER. ALL SPECIFICATIONS ARE SUBJECT TO REVISION.
